About

Imposter Syndrome features husband-and-wife team Ken and Michelle Downie on dual lead and harmony vocals, bringing a versatility and depth of repertoire that's hard to find. Rooted in classic rock and country, they'll surprise you with their eclectic song picks, playing everything from Ozzy and Lita to Kenny and Dolly.

Ken Downie sings and plays electric and acoustic guitar for Imposter Syndrome, often singing the high harmony. Ken has played in rock and country bands for more than three decades, from Detroit to Denver to the Pacific Northwest. Ken is equally at home ripping it up on rock guitar as he is laying back into the blues or twangin' out a country solo.

A huge fan of Dolly Parton and Aerosmith, Michelle Downie started playing her Dad's guitar when she was six years old. Today she plays bass and sings lead for Imposter Syndrome. Michelle's wide range of musical tastes help give the band its unique flavor.

Gary Stephenson has been a mainstay on the Kelso/Longview music scene for three decades and was a founding member of local favorites Jack Diesel & The Hangovers. Gary is a versatile musician, handling lead guitar duties in Imposter Syndrome as well as backing vocals and sometimes picking up the bass!

Barry Waggoner is a drummer, percussionist, and vocalist from Vancouver, Washington. Barry has performed live for well over 40 years, laying down the beat for rock and country bands across the Northwest including Imposter Syndrome. He's influenced by great rock drummers such as John Bonham, Stewart Copland, and many others.
